Smart Talks. |
Since the late 1970s multi-media has come to define an artwork that uses a combination of electronic media, which could include video, film, audio and computers. (Retrieved from Tate Art Terms).
In this series of Smart Talks the aim is to pose 3 questions to a variety of renowned, learned and smart experts, who work in between the realms of visual arts, music and conservation-restoration:
- Is it possible to conserve multimedia artworks that exist in between music and the visual arts for the long-term? If so, how? If not, why not?
- Are multimedia artworks suitable to be preserved in a museum environment? If so, how? If not, who or which institutions should take the responsibility?
- Can conservation be understood as a creative act, whether technical or artistic? If so, in which way(s)? If not, why not?
